Major Overhaul
An Overhaul? you may be asking. I have always wanted this game to just be something that I will use to expand my knowledge of programming and game design, and I have hit multiple major roadblocks when it comes to this project. The first roadblock was exporting the game, to get the game to export I would need to go through Pyinstaller and use it to create an executable to which the process is time consuming and kind of sketchy to me personally (no hate on the Pyinstaller devs of course). Another roadblock is the fact of the game being built on top of code that had to be maintained to which there was no unified system for naming, how it is structured, and lack of cohesiveness, in other words, the game is made of spaghetti code. Finally, the last roadblock was limitations from Pygame, some of these limitations were for how things were displayed and animations to where I wasn't able to find a cohesive, simple, and effective solution to displaying animations which held the game back a bit when I wanted to add more features to the game (no hate on the Pygame devs of course). So overall, a overhaul of the game is needed where I will switch from a graphics/game library, to a game engine. But to the question of what game engine, that will be answered in the next post!
